Hello 2nd Grade Families!

We’re inviting you to help restock the staff lounge with drinks, coffee, tea, snacks, and other treats for our wonderful teachers and staff. Any contribution is greatly appreciated.

5th Grade Lego Mindstorms Robotics Club - Spring Session

Is your child interested in robotics? Do they want to know more about coding? Prospect's Lego Mindstorms Robotics Club is a club for 5th-grade students to learn to design, build, and program robots using Lego Mindstorms EV3 kits. Because students will work in small groups to complete projects created specifically for EV3, regular attendance at club sessions is important. *Please note that students will not be able to take the robots home, as all parts will be reused from session to session.

At this time, the club is available to a maximum of 15 5th-grade students and will meet on the following Wednesdays after school until 4:20 p.m.: February 18 & 25, March 4, 11, 18 & 25, April 8, 15, 22 & 29. Please note, if needed, May 6 will be used as a make-up day.

Please complete the Google Form (https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1NG7XMSZIcHt-rQcyb9BmFY4K_AvuXKuq4Pqifs-q1jg/edit#settings) to request registration for the robotics club prior to Monday, February 16. If more than 15 registrations are received, a random number generator will be used to determine participation. Maureen Claffy Art Academy: Builders Club Now Starts Feb 10

Come and create three-dimensional forms from custom-printed card stock and fasten with masking tape in a program designed to satisfy the needs of children who want to build objects.

The program helps with small motor skills and assists the young mind in understanding forms in space. The program is designed by artist Maureen Claffy and was piloted within her summer programs. Skill level increases weekly as children bring forms to life.

Panther Prom Early Bird Rate Ending This Week!

A throw-back prom-themed event featuring music spun from the 1990s and 2000s, a photo booth, raffle prizes and more! This is a great way to have a fun adult night out while also raising money for the Prospect PTO. The PTO finances school assemblies, student clubs, teacher support, classroom parties, Science Week, One World Night, One Book One School and SO MUCH MORE.

EARLY BIRD RATE UNTIL 1/31/26: $100 per person includes heavy appetizers and drink tickets. Price increases to $125 on 2/1/26

Attire: Feel free to lean into the theme or stick to classic cocktail attire. (In keeping with Hinsdale Golf Club policy, denim is not allowed).

Flowers: Get ready for your prom pictures by purchasing a wrist corsage and boutonniere, made by former Prospect 2nd grade teacher, Mrs. Turrentine! These will feature white flowers that will match any outfit. Pick-up onsite.

Transportation: Book a ride in style with Chicago Original Limousine and mention Prospect for $10 off your ride (plus a portion of the ride will go back to the PTO). This offer is valid for the entire month of March, so please consider this for your spring break airport transit as well!

Official Prom After Party: Head down the road to DJs after the event for the official after-prom party! A portion of the sales for the evening will generously be donated back to the PTO, plus they are keeping the kitchen open late featuring Panther Potato Chips to satisfy your late-night cravings.
