Prospect Choir Registration Open

9/6/2024 7:49 pm

Attention all 4th and 5th grade families!

Registration is now open for Prospect Choir’s 2024-25 season! This performing ensemble is an extracurricular activity offered to all 4th and 5th grade students. If your child loves to sing, this is the ensemble for them! Choir provides added enrichment for students to learn vocal technique, performance skills, music reading, ensemble experience, and the joy of singing with others.

Prospect Choir meets Tuesdays from 7:45 – 8:30 a.m. and has four performances during the school year. If your child would like to be a part of the Prospect Choir, please read the choir information (including the 2024-25 calendar) and register them online at https://tinyurl.com/ChoirRegistrationFall2024 by Friday, Sept. 13.

We are also looking for 2 choir co-chairs (one 4th grade parent and one 5th grade parent). If you are looking for a great way to volunteer and get involved, please contact me at the email below! We would love to have you on the choir team! Click here for flyer.

If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Kozakis at ekozakis@d181.org.

5th Grade Lego Mindstorms Robotics Club

9/6/2024 7:45 pm

Is your child interested in robotics? Do they want to know more about coding? Prospect's Lego Mindstorms Robotics Club is a club for 5th grade students to learn to design, build and program robots using Lego Mindstorms EV3 kits. Because students will work in small groups to complete projects created specifically for EV3, regular attendance at club sessions is expected.

*Please note that students will not be able to take the robots home as all parts will be reused from session to session.

At this time, the club is available to a maximum of 15 5th grade students and will meet on the following Wednesdays after school until 4:20 p.m.:

September 18 & 25
October 2, 9, 16, 23 & 30
November 6, 13 & 20

Please complete the Google Form ( https://forms.gle/ijynsLxxQnzjUFwf9 ) to request registration for the robotics club prior to Monday, September 16. If more than 15 registrations are received, a random number generator will be used to determine participation. You will be notified of your child's participation in the club or waitlist status on September 17.

If you have any questions, please contact Meredith Bailey (mbailey@d181.org)

Room and Yearbook Parent Sign Up

8/31/2024 8:46 pm

Being a room parent or yearbook parent is a great way to visit your child's classroom.

Room parents are responsible for planning and attending the classroom parties (Halloween and Holiday) and sending communications to the other parents.

Yearbook parents should plan to attend the classroom parties to get pictures for the yearbook and to design a class page.

In order to give as many people an opportunity as possible to get into the classroom, please indicate your interest in this form by Wednesday, September 4th.

If you have multiple children and would be open to volunteering for either, it is OK to fill out the form multiple times.

There will be a meeting on Monday, September 9th at 8:30 a.m. at the Prospect Pavilion to go over responsibilities.
