Students have been collecting Coins for Koalas. This year music and art are collaborating to raise funds for the World Wildlife Fund -Australia. Third graders have been learning folk and traditional music from Australia, and in art, third graders drew a koala bear using mixed media. As we connect our students to world events and enable them to personally make a positive difference in our world, students will learn about the recent fires in Australia and ways they can help.
Coins for Koalas was supposed to run through March 20. Due to recent events, we will end the coin collection early (if you want to drop off any coins or bills Monday morning to the main office, they will still be accepted!). But, you can still contribute to the WWF with an online purchase at Artsonia through March 20.
Every time your third grade child’s Koala artwork is purchased through Artsonia, the proceeds from the sale will go to the World Wildlife Fund. Check out the Gallery @ https://www.artsonia.com/museum/gallery.asp?project=1946765
